Here's my journal post on her passing: R.I.P. AranzaIt is with great sadness that I share with you all the passing of my little cousin Aranza. She earned her little wings exactly one week ago as cancer took her away. She was 11 years old. I made a piece for her that has a lot of meaning to me:

She was a little dancer all her short life winning many medals, awards, and trophies, a little rising star. She had a pain in her leg that she went for the doctor's for thinking she had sprained her ankle in dance and the doctors found cancer. From there she was the bravest little soul I know battling chemo and several treatments that were unable to save her. Her death came as a huge shock for me as I did not know it had ever become terminal. I knew she was doing very badly but I guess I always kept so much hope that I couldn't believe she was gone. I still was waiting until I found the perfect dance outfit to gift it to her for when she got better. I had been
